Bimbisara is one of the most awaited OTT release this week. It will be making its OTT debut on 21st October on Zee5. Given that this is a Diwali weekend, there are slew of interesting movies lineup this weekend.
Written and directed by debutant Mallidi Vasishta, Bimbisara has been presented as a fantasy period drama. The film stars Nandamuri Kalyan Ram in the lead role. Other reputed names like Samyuktha Menon, Catherine Tresa, and Prakash Raj also play significant roles in the film.
Highlighting the story of Trigartala Empire’s King Bimbisara, the film set in the fifth century BCE, takes you back in time. Cruel and power-hungry by nature, the king had taken extreme measures to suppress dissent in his kingdom, and this becomes the crux of the film.
The film was released in theatres on August 5, 2022, and impressed the audience thereby making an impressive collection at the box office. Reports also state that Bimbisara made a mark as the highest-grosser of Kalyan Ram’s career. This also becomes Mallidi Vasisht’s breakthrough performance in Tollywood.

Fans have taken to social media to express their anticipation as the film has taken some time to release on the OTT platform. Makers however shared the news that Bimbisara will stream on Zee5 from October 21, 2022. Earlier the team was planning the digital release during Dusshera or October 10, however, this was pushed to a later date.
Presented by Kalyan Ram’s own banner, NTR Arts, Bimbisara’s music has been given by MM Keeravani. Makers of the film have also informed that the second instalment of Bimbisara will release in August 2023.

Meanwhile, October marks the month of festivals and marking the occasion, several OTT websites have planned important releases to lure the audience to the respective digital platforms. This month, viewers can enjoy watching films like Maja Ma, Dobara, Ammu, Karthikeya 2, Gaalipata 2, Lucky Man and more on platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Zee5, SonyLIV, Aha Video, etc.
Bimbisara, starring Kalyan Ram, brought back the lost glory of Tollywood and became the highest-grosser in the actor’s career. After having an extraordinary run in theatres, the film will be available to stream on ZEE5 from October 21st.
The latest update is that the film will also be available in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam languages too, apart from the Telugu version. This is undoubtedly good news for the non-Telugu audience who are waiting for the film.
Vashist directed Bimbisara. Catherine Tresa, Samyuktha Menon, Warina Hussain, Vennela Kishore, Srinivasa Reddy, and Brahmaji are also a part of this movie. MM Keeravaani is the music composer of this flick. Kalyan Ram himself bankrolled this fantasy drama under NTR Arts Official.
