When to download fifa 22?

Gamers subscribed to PlayStation Plus, which ranges in price from £49.99 to £99.99 a year, can access a selection of free games each month, at no extra cost.

The games typically apply to PS5 and PS4 players, with the occasional PlayStation VR game up for grabs, too.

But how can you play games like FIFA 22 on PlayStation for free?

To play FIFA 22 for free on PlayStation, you will need a PS Plus membership.

Choose from Essential (1 month £6.99/ 3 months £19.99 / 12 months £49.99), Extra (1 month £10.99/ 3 months £31.99 / 12 months £83.99), or Premium (1 month £13.49/ 3 months £39.99 / 12 months £99.99), which each come with a range of benefits.

Once you’ve signed up for a subscription, log in, and head to the PS store. When the game is released, you will be able to download FIFA 22 for free.

FIFA 22 (£59.99) lets players create their dream squad in Ultimate Team, and create their own club in Career Mode and enjoy local or online multiplayer mode.

FIFA 22 announced on May 2 that it would soon be testing cross-play functionality in Online Seasons and Online Friendlies on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia versions of EA SPORTS FIFA 22.

If you already own FIFA 22 on PlayStation, this month you can get the FIFA 22 FUT pack for free, which includes 11 players rated 82 and above.

FIFA 22 has a “Strong” rating on OpenCritic with a Top Critic average score of 78, and 67% of critics recommend the game.

Tribes of Midgard (£15.99) is a blend between a survival game and an action role playing game, set in the universe of North mythology.

Curse of the Dead Gods (£15.99)  is a skill-based, single player, roguelike game in which players will explore a cursed temple, labyrinth of bottomless pits, complete with deadly traps and monsters.

Curse of the Dead Gods has a “Strong” rating on OpenCritic with a Top Critic average score of 81, and 88% of critics recommend the game.

The latest releases on that platform for May 2022 have been revealed, with a market-leading offering from EA Sports among the games being added to the subscription service.

Players will now get the chance to compete as their favourite stars from the global game, from Lionel Messi to Cristiano Ronaldo, with all of the popular features such as Ultimate Team and Career Mode also available.

Sony has announced on the corporation’s official PlayStation Blog that FIFA 22 is to be made available for free.

That statement reads: "PlayStation Plus members can enjoy FIFA 22, Tribes of Midgard and Curse of the Dead Gods from Tuesday, May 3 when the three games are available to add to your game library.

"This month’s lineup also includes a bonus FIFA 22 FUT pack, exclusive to PlayStation Plus."

It added: "PlayStation Plus members can kickstart their brand-new Ultimate Team or bolster their existing squad with the PlayStation Plus FUT Pack for FIFA 22 Ultimate Team.

"This pack includes 11 players rated 82 or above to help build your dream squad in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, as well as an Icon Moments Loan Player Pick, allowing you to choose between some of the best ballers in history and add one of three to your squad for five games."

The FIFA franchise may be about to undergo a serious facelift in 2022, with EA Sports being tipped to sever ties with world football’s governing body and head out on its own.

That would mean an obvious change in the title of the game, but a loyal fan base has already been established.

For all players, regardless of whether they have pre-ordered the game or not, the game releases October 1. There was no demo this year, so for the majority of the player base, that will be the first time they get to experience FIFA 22. However, some players can download the game early.

Players with a Game Pass subscription, which is separate from the standard Xbox Live subscription, can download the game now. They'll need to follow these steps:

It should be noted that even though it is already downloaded, players can't access FIFA 22 until October 1, which is when the game goes live. However, this will save a lot of time on release day when servers may be overloaded with downloads.

For PlayStation players, there are two dates to remember. If players did pre-order, then the download date depends on which version of the game they ordered. There are two editions, Standard and Ultimate, that players can pre-order or buy on release day.

For Ultimate Edition buyers, the game will become available for download September 25, 2021. For the rest, the date will be the 27th.

For PC players, the dates are the same. Ultimate Edition players can download the game on the 25th, and the Standard Edition will become available four days before the regular release date.

For those who haven't pre-ordered, that is still an option, otherwise FIFA 22 will need to be purchased and downloaded on October 1 or later.

FIFA 22 will be free to download with PlayStation Plus in May 2022.
