Yeah mate, most of India’s cardamom comes from down south. It's a pretty specific area. The main state for it is Kerala. They grow so much, they even call a place there the Cardamom Hills. It produces heaps of the stuff.
The states next to it, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, also grow a lot. Pretty much the whole crop is from this part of the country, in the mountains they call the Western Ghats.
The weather there is just right for it. It gets lots of rain and it’s shady under the big forest trees. This is for the small green cardamom, the one we usually see in the shops. It’s real good quality from there.
