Last year, Lala Anthony and BMF actor DaVinchi sparked dating rumors!

So what’s the 411, hun?

During an interview on The Jason Lee Show, Lala, and Da’Vinchi open up about the viral moment they were spotted off-set, holding hands last year. Take a look to refresh your memory:

On BMF, Lala plays “Markaisha Taylor,” the girlfriend of one of the lead roles, Terry Flenory (Da’Vinchi). During the interview, Lala admitted that she appreciates the bond she shares with Da’Vinchi because it allows the chemistry to flow on set. Although, Da’Vinchi said shooting sex scenes makes him uncomfortable because he’s conservative.

Around the 31:00 mark, Lala and Da’Vinchi address the viral hand moment. Lala explained that there was a large crowd, which prompted him to grab her hand.

Da’Vinchi also says he’s a gentleman and asks Lala “if she was falling” or lost her balance, which is another reason he held her hand. However, earlier in the interview, Lala said she wouldn’t date a costar because things can get tricky (around the 16:00 mark).

Take a look:

Throughout the interview, Jason thinks Da’Vinchi is a good fit for his homegirl, but the two actors played it cool. Around the 46:00 mark, Da’Vinchi said again that he and Lala aren’t dating and he’s “married,” but Jason pointed out he wasn’t wearing a ring.

Actress and TV personality La La Anthony, 40, has been single and back on the block for some time. During a candid talk with Jennifer Hudson, she discussed how “protective” her son Kiyan, 15, is when it comes to her dating. On a recent episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show, Hudson asked Anthony how her teenager feels about her getting back out there.

“He doesn’t like it,” she confessed. “And I’m like, ‘So you just want your mom to be alone forever?’ He’s like, ‘Yeah, kind of.'”

“But anytime his friends want to go out and do something he’s like, ‘All right mom, bye, see you later. I’m going here,’ and I’m like, ‘You just leave me in a heartbeat, but you don’t want me to have anybody!'” she continued.

Hudson could relate to this, claiming she “can’t even get on the phone” around her son, David Daniel Otunga Jr., 13.

“Me either!” the ‘BMF’ actress chimed in. “I feel like it’s my dad in the house or something. I’m sneaking , texting…this is crazy! Or he’s like, ‘Mom, let me see your phone real quick.’ Like for what? What do you need my phone for?”

“It must be a mommy-son thing,” said Hudson.

Anthony divorced her ex-husband and Kiyan’s father, Carmelo Anthony, in June 2021. She and the NBA legend had a seven-year marriage before calling it quits.

Back in October, La La appeared on the Spotify podcast Call Her Daddy and said she “wasn’t really” dating at the time. She also added that she wasn’t dating because the dating pool was too young.

“People think I’m just out there, like, you can have any guy you want, but not really because the guys trying to talk to me are 21 to 22 years old,” she said.

That said, Anthony told Hudson she’s working on “leading by example,’ when it comes to teaching her son how to treat women.

“Like if I get dressed for an event or something, and I’m just leaving he might not say anything,” she began. “So I’m like, ‘Do you think mom looks nice?’ And he’s like, ‘Yeah mom, you look nice.'”

She continued, “And I tell him make sure you say that because women like to hear compliments. Women like people to do nice things for them. So I start with me so he can learn from me how to do that.”

“Or if someone does something nice for you, acknowledge that, let them know that was nice or that made you feel special,” added Anthony. “I try to make sure he’s in touch with his feelings.”

In TMZHipHop’s encounter with the BMF and Power star, she spoke on dating in 2023 and how it’s gone from 22-year-old guys wanting to date her to feeling like “no guys want to date her,” she joked.

When asked “what kind of age bracket she wants to date?” the mom-of-one responded with “age aint nothing but a number” — a quotable from the late-Aaliyah‘s 1994 hit written by R. Kelly.

“I prefer whoever is for me,” she said when asked if she would go for a 40-year-old over a 22-year-old. “If God says it’s for me, I’m good with it. Everybody is different, 22 is a little too young.”

She did agree that 34 is a good age for her to date. See below.

The New York-native has been keeping busy since her divorce from NBA All-star Anthony. Following her split from the 12-year marriage, she’s starred in 50 Cent’s Power series and more recently his BMF franchise. The 39-year-old also plays the role of “Dom” in the Starz show The Chi.

La La has also done amazing philanthropic work with prison institutions like Riker’s Island and more where she works with prisoners weekly.

“Merry Christmas everybody I hosted a holiday dinner at Rikers Island & I wanted to shout out the the young men who participate in my initiative every week & work SOOO hard to make real changes in their lives,” she wrote on Christmas Day via Instagram with photos from the infamous prison.

“Thank you to the staff that helps us run the initiative and puts in hard work as well. Our holiday dinner was sponsored by @thechelseahousenyc @thredz_nyc @mainohustlehard & the food was incredible! Perfect way to spend the holidays giving thanks for all of our blessings,” she added.

Since the couple’s separation, La La nèe Alani Nicole Vázquez, has been a hot commodity — breaking the internet almost every time she posts to social media. She recently brought in the New Year with a photo of her wearing a sheer cover-up over a black mono-kini. Glowing, her comment section filled with compliments and fire emojis.
