Who was chandrashekhar azad?

Chandrashekhar Azad was a pretty incredible Indian revolutionary. He was a massive figure in the fight for independence from the British back in the 1920s.
Basically, he was a key organiser and a mentor to other freedom fighters, including the famous Bhagat Singh. He reorganised a group called the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association, which was all about achieving freedom through direct action.
He famously pledged he'd never be caught alive. The name 'Azad' actually means 'Free', which really tells you everything about his spirit. He lived up to that promise, too. In 1931, after being surrounded by police in a park, he used his last bullet to take his own life. A true freedom fighter, right to the very end.
