Why are political parties important?

Political parties are crucial because they organize citizens’ interests into policies and provide voters with choices. Without them, democracy would be chaotic, as every individual would run independently.

In my opinion, the biggest role of political parties is to hold the government accountable. Opposition parties especially keep a check on ruling ones, ensuring decisions are debated and scrutinized properly.
