While some people may think defending themselves starts with throwing a punch or lunging, the basics of jiu jitsu teaches that the most effective way to defend yourself is to close the distance and control your opponent. Of course our class instruction is not catered toward real life altercations of any kind- our goal is simply to train you in the controlled environment of our gym. However, there is peace of mind in knowing you have the basic tools for self defense.
