Why did bangladesh separate from pakistan?
1 answer(s)
It was a lot of things, mate. Pakistan was two parts, West and East. They were very far from each other. The West part had all the power and money. They tried to make everyone speak one language, Urdu. But people in the East spoke Bangla and were very proud of it. They felt ignored and that it was not fair.
In 1970, the East's political party won the election. The West did not accept it. This started a terrible war. East Pakistan got help from India and won its freedom. Then it became the new country, Bangladesh.
