Why did ranga name his child shyama?
1 answer(s)
He named his son Shyama as a tribute, plain and simple. It was a nod to the narrator of the story, whose name is also Shyama. The narrator was the one who cleverly arranged Ranga’s marriage to Ratna. He pretty much played matchmaker for the couple. Ranga really admired the narrator and was incredibly grateful. Naming his firstborn after him was the ultimate sign of respect and gratitude. It showed just how thankful he was for the narrator’s help in finding him a wife. A top gesture to a good bloke, really.
