Why do software engineers always focus on salary?

You get burned fast, you will always have someone younger that works more and often for cheaper, and of course, boredom, to do the same thing over and over for too long.As such; life of a programmer is kinda like the life of a fashion model; you won’t last long, so you maximize your income as much as possible, to get out of this madness and retire early, so you can have a relaxing part time job and try to spend the money you saved, for something fun.

It's not just software engineers … it is just the trend which has been spread by some of the successful and money minded guys that it is a way of life to earn more as quickly and retire with good sums of money.. but the truth is revealed around the mid of career of most of the software guys that this is not the real deal. You have to work till you die.Retirement is a death to almost everything.

software job is actual a hot seat, you need to devlop things at faster pace, learn new skills, new technologies at more faster pace, keep upgrading yourselves, and then to stay in the competition always you need to have very high standards of life, home, work balance. mostly i feel people get bored, get exhausted, burn out and want to exit. It's a high pressure job and you get a lot of mentally tired and drained of energy in the long run.

Yes, I think 10–15 years max is good.

Are you aware of what "always on" means?Let me tell you about it.

I started coding in 1999 in the second half.

It is now 2019.

I did not have a single day for 20 years.

  1. It is Coded.Learned about the system.
  2. Understood other people's code.
  3. Thought about how to improve systems.

continuous years

There are 6 different stacks with.NET, JVM, Python, Ruby, MFC and Shell.

It's been 20 years.Every day is the same. Each day is a new day.

Those stacks will evolve. It's making you obsolete each year.

Once you are 40, you can't continue this. You will be replaced by younger, smarter people quickly.

Thus...
