Why is my mobile hotspot not working?
Ugh, mobile hotspots are incredibly useful until they decide to stop working! It’s usually a simple setting or a conflict, not a major device failure. Here are the three most common reasons and fixes: 1. Carrier/Plan Restriction (Most Common): * The Problem: Your mobile plan might have a hotspot data limit, or you might not have the hotspot feature enabled on your current plan at all. Sometimes, if you've used up your high-speed hotspot data for the month, it either throttles to an unusable speed or cuts off completely. * The Fix: Call your mobile provider (Airtel, Jio, etc.) and confirm that your current data plan includes an active mobile hotspot feature and that you haven't exceeded the usage cap. 2. Power Saving/Connectivity Conflict: * The Problem: If your phone is in Power Saving Mode, it often automatically disables the hotspot feature to conserve battery. Also, if your Wi-Fi is still on, sometimes the phone can’t simultaneously broadcast a hotspot. * The Fix: Turn off Power Saving Mode. Also, try turning off your Wi-Fi connection completely before enabling the hotspot. 3. Authentication/Device Name Issue (Easy Fix): * The Problem: The device you're trying to connect (your laptop or tablet) might have old saved credentials for your hotspot, or the hotspot's name/password was recently changed. * The Fix: On the device that cannot connect, tell it to "Forget" the network name, then search and reconnect with the current, correct password. Also, try giving your hotspot a very simple name and password.
