Why is sky blue not violet?

It's a fascinating question. While violet light scatters the most, two things are at play. The sun radiates less violet than blue light to begin with. More importantly, our eyes are simply far more sensitive to blue. This combination of physics and biology gives us our beautiful blue sky.
