The United Kingdom does not want to leave the European Union.Less than half of the people who voted in the June 2016 referendum expressed a preference to leave the European Union.17 million people were out of an eligible electorate.

The results of the EU referendum were published.

That result allowed the Eurosceptic wing of the Conservative Party to take control of the government.

Is this true?

Not everyone in Britain would like to leave the EU.However, I do.Some of my reasons may be related to other voters.Mischaracterisation of the motives for the leave vote has been a feature of the debate.Reducing them to base factors such as gullibility and jingoisism will make them patronised and pooh-poohed.This leads us nowhere.We can never achieve consensus when one side misreports...
