Why should diabetics avoid fat?

Having too much saturated fat in your diet can cause high levels of what's known as 'bad cholesterol' (low-density lipoprotein or LDL), which increases the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). People with diabetes are at increased risk of CVD, so it's even more important to make healthier food choices.
