A physician's assistant is different from a physician.

I don't work in either role.A physician assistant can perform most medical duties, but only under the supervision of a physician.Physician assistants can't practice in a building where there isn't a doctor present because it's not realistic.

There are differences on one level.Physicians do residencies. Most PAs don't do residencies, but they learn on the job.Being fully noted for many problems treated by PAs-PAs makes a difference. Many studies show that for what PAs do, they do a great job and that there is no difference in outcomes between physicians and PAs.In many practices PAs have an expertise in women's health or even suturing.

A2 A.It takes less money, time, energy, education and commitment to become a physician's assistant. The salary is decent. They are treated like doctors by people. They don't have to work as long or as hard, they don't own their own practices, there's a great need for them, and it's probably as rewarding as being a physician for many people. If you're interested in Western medicine, this is a great career choice.
