Advance tax has to be paid on schedule. The government has not changed those deadlines. If you have tax liability of more than ₹10,000, then advance tax rules apply. Only the paperwork filing got more time, not the tax payment itself.

Filing extension and advance tax are two different things. You can’t skip advance tax payments thinking that extension covers it. If you pay late, you will have to pay extra interest, even if you file ITR on September 16.

In simple words: Yes, you must pay advance tax on time. Don’t confuse the extension with tax payment dates. Missing advance tax leads to penalty interest, which can become costly.

Yes, the extension is only for filing the return, not for paying advance tax. Advance tax due dates remain the same—15th June, 15th September, 15th December, and 15th March. If you miss paying advance tax on time, interest under Sections 234B and 234C will be charged.
