How do your photos and videos compare to those of your friends and family?
My phone is a great way to record memories and photos that don't need a lot of control, like controlling shutter speeds, f-stops, multiple flash, really long exposures, very wide-angle and very long telephoto lens, and a few other instances.It makes a great phone, and I use it a lot.The Swiss Army knife is this century.
It isn't close if it's all a decent camera.If you only want to take snapshots, stick with the phone, it will take good photos.A good camera will allow you to do more with your photography.
I think the second answer is incorrect.For most people, phone cameras are all they need, and they are getting better.The cameras are getting better.DSLRs give one additional option that surpasses phones, but more to the point is that the phone image lacks the details of the other options.
