Granted, I don't believe in paying $50/mo for a crappy product where I have to spend more time/money fixing it. Spectrum is running a promo in my area for 500 mbps for $45/mo locked in for 2 years (no contract), so I am sending the trashcan back to T-Mobile and have never been so excited to go back to an older technology.

My experience with a little over a week of testing the T-Mobile service has been pretty good. We are only a few hundred yards away from the tower. I have found a great spot by a window & the gateway says "excellent" reception (even though that window faces away from the tower). And the Arcaydan WiFi 6 actually reaches the far corners of the house better than my current (WiFi 5) router. However, the Arcaydan does not play well at all with our Roku units.

Accordingly, I am running the T-Mobile feed over my current router/WiFi. Using this existing router/WiFi has been successful without any configuration changes, even without being able to shut off the Arcaydan router & WiFi. So far, good! Also, I am not seeing appreciable T-Mobile slow downs at peak time, but continue to evaluate that.

QUESTION--Any observations on getting the freestanding Arcaydan router/WiFi to work better with Roku (despite very limited ability to customize router/WiFi settings on the Arcaydan gateway)?

I am evaluating against my current Spectrum service. I have had a steady price (and fairly reasonable price) with Spectrum (formerly Time Warner) after previously being on an Earthlink plan that was carried over Time Warner cable. (The Earthlink contract ended ~2 years ago with continued service via Spectrum). The "cost" of the steady price has been what is now very slow speed (20 Mbps down/2 up). Spectrum has finally relinquished on this legacy Time Warner plan & now allowing 300/20. My former cable modem (owned by me) is now no longer allowed & could not be provisioned to a higher speed. Using an interim modem, I am now at 100 down/10 up (Spectrum sent me the wrong modem so full speed not yet available). I will need to now purchase a new modem (no free modem on my legacy plan) to provision up to 300/20 (so it is still "to be determined" if I will get that full speed).

While the $25 T-Mobile price is very attractive (but I need to maintain T-Mobile phone service which may be limiting in the future), the extra cost from Spectrum is not a major issue. I want to make sure T-Mobile maintains enough reliability--especially of concern with many postings about their T=Mobile Home Internet service suffering after months of initially good service.

Also, another variable I am contemplating is whether the Spectrum plan does indeed stay steady priced or if I get forced in the future to another Spectrum plan (once there is sufficient attrition from my current legacy "Time Warner plan") that is subject to price increases.
