This is a common question! Unfortunately, you generally cannot delete messages from someone else's iPhone - that would be a major privacy violation. What you CAN do:- Use "Undo Send" in iMessage (if you have iOS 16+ and act quickly)- Enable disappearing messages in specific conversationsFor Undo Send (iOS 16+):1. Long press on the sent message2. Tap "Undo Send" within 2 minutes of sending3. The message will disappear from both devicesFor disappearing messages:1. Open the conversation2. Tap the contact's name at top3. Toggle "Disappearing Messages"4. Set time duration (after 1 day, etc.)Important: This only works when both parties have iMessage enabled (blue bubbles), and the other person also has a relatively recent iOS version. For regular SMS (green bubbles), there's no way to delete from the recipient's phone once sent. This is why I'm always careful about what I text!Apple's support page explains the feature requirements: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212780

Yeah, this comes up a lot in my tech support work. The truth is you can't remotely delete messages from someone else's device for good reason - imagine if people could delete evidence of harassment or important communications! The limited exceptions are:- iMessage Undo Send (within 2 minutes, iOS 16+)- Disappearing messages (future messages only)What doesn't work:- Third-party apps claiming to delete others' messages- Any method for regular SMS/text messages- Deleting messages after they've been readMy advice: If you sent something embarrassing or problematic, your best approach is to politely ask the person to delete it. Most reasonable people will understand if you explain it was sent by mistake.Otherwise, treat this as a learning moment to be more careful about what you send. Once a message leaves your device, you lose control over it - that's just how digital communication works. We've all been there with regrettable texts - usually it's not as big a deal as we think in the moment!
