How to fix rx 5700 xt black screen?

• Go to Radeon Settings > Advanced settings (gear icon on the top right) > Display > Custom Resolution > Create New +.
• Make sure you're not using Enhanced Sync, and also make sure your color depth is set to the highest available, and pixel format is set to RGB 4:4:4.
• In Radeon Settings, go to Performance > Tuning.

I want to share my experience of using AMD and to help people overcome problems they might encounter. I will carefully explain steps I did to solve errors I've encountered and how did I found the solution. I am writing this article because it's a summary of advises I've found plus my personal experience and expertise.

I've been using laptop for years and decided to build my first PC myself.

Countless of times I've seen BSOD (black screen of death - BSOD) and lately I've started to see black screen while system sounds indicated that system is working fine. On top of that was an error: "%applicationname% has been blocked from accessing graphics card".

Event viewer typically states: "Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power; EventID: 41"

All these problems did not happened at one day, I've been getting each of them about once a week.

I decided to do a clean windows install, and to check if windows updates/drivers affect these. To do that, you'll need to control windows update policy:

Another advice I've found for this problem is to configure TdrDelay.  It specifies the number of seconds that the GPU can delay the preempt request from the GPU scheduler. The default value is 2 seconds.

Last solution but not least is to update bios. Reasons of this issue handling is that motherboard might not recognize devices. All you would have to do, is to navigate to your motherboard manufacturer's website, there supposed to be present all instructions needed to be done, for update.

Alas none of this helps. I'm still getting black screens/bsod. I've tried to switch to my second M2 card connector, result is the same. Reverting to old AMD drivers, installing all\none a single windows updates. It just doesn't help.

There is an option in System tab, called Issue Detection. Do not try to turn it off, because it prevents your system to completely freeze. When I was experimenting with all these steps, the moment I turned it off, my system would never close the application that causes black screen.

Besides, AMD gives access to reporting bugs that aren’t covered in the statements for their users.

Generally, compared with some more cases before, such kind of bug may be fixed in the next driver update. You can keep an eye on AMD Radeon graphics driver update to get the latest driver, or you can use a driver updater to help make the updates automatically.

Black screen of death errors can be caused by some other problems too. Sometime, users may face a black screen of death error under the following cases:

Case 1. Overheated;

Computer overheated is the most common-to-see reason that leads to a black screen of death error. To lower down your hardware temperature, you can end some unnecessary programs to release RAM. I wanted to write on this forum and discuss my frustrations with this card. I got this card about two months ago (August 2020) and the amount of time it crashed on me and the anxiety i got from it is insane. I tried so many solutions on so many forums, downgraded the Adrenaline application version to the most "stable" version, undervolted my GPU, increasing the fan speeds and added a new fan to the case but it never got past 50C. I tried everything for this it because i want it to work, when it functions as it should it runs smoothly and i got very high fps with it. However, every single day since i bought this card, every single day, it crashed at least once. There hasn't been a day that went by without my PC crashing. Its crazy to think this issue is still ongoing since July 2019. This is my last resort to find a solution because i already sent it back for a refund/warranty but they told me it functions correctly, but the thing is it works fine when browsing the internet and stuff like that but it always, and I MEAN ALWAYS crashes when i start playing a game. I tried LOL, R6, Raft, Phasmophobia, Fall guys, COD MW. It always crashes mid game at least once before i have to restart and reconnect to whatever game i am playing. I don't want to complain more about this card, these are the specs of my pc:

Honestly, I am not sure what else i can do to fix this issue but i am hoping for the best, please let me know if there are any solutions that worked with you. I also wanted to mention that i built my pc a year ago so its not old and its not an issue with my pc, because before i got this card i was using a ZOTAC GTX 1060 6gb and everything was working fine but when i upgraded to the RX5700 XT everything went downhill, i upgraded my RAM, Power supply and bought new fans incase it needed more power and air circulation but none of them were the cause of these crashes, please help.
