Growing betel leaf (Paan) from cuttings is very easy and reliable! I've maintained my plant for years through cuttings:

Select healthy, mature vines with several nodes. Cut 6-8 inch sections, ensuring each has at least 2-3 nodes. Remove lower leaves, keeping 1-2 at top. You can root in water or directly in soil.

For soil rooting, use well-draining mix with extra organic matter. Insert cuttings so at least one node is buried. Keep consistently moist and maintain high humidity (cover with plastic). Roots develop in 2-3 weeks.

Betel leaf prefers partial shade, warm temperatures, and high humidity. It's a vine so provide support. Harvest leaves regularly to encourage bushier growth. It makes an attractive indoor plant too!

The plant has cultural significance in many communities and is relatively low-maintenance once established.
