Ceiling-mounted bars are great if you have space and solid concrete ceilings. I installed one in my garage. It takes more effort but the range of motion is excellent. Just make sure to use heavy-duty expansion bolts rated for fitness equipment.

If you’re going for a wall-mounted bar you’ll need a drill wall anchors and a stud finder. Mounting directly into wall studs is safest. Mark the holes drill pilot holes and tighten the bolts properly. This setup is much more stable for weighted pull-ups.

One general safety tip: always test the bar with partial body weight first before going all-in. I’ve seen too many bars come loose because screws weren’t tightened properly. A decent installation guide from fitness experts can be found here: https://www.nerdfitness.com

The easiest option is a door-frame pull-up bar. These don’t require drilling and usually rely on leverage against the frame. Measure your door width first and make sure the bar supports your weight. Installation usually takes under 5 minutes.
