How to make eco-friendly idols and decorations for Navratri 2025 puja?

Last year, I made an idol with my kids using simple shadu mati (natural clay). We painted it with haldi, kumkum, and natural food colors. After immersion, it dissolved without polluting water. I also used old sarees and dupattas as backdrop decoration. Very eco-friendly and cost-effective.

You can make idols using clay, cow dung, or paper mache. Avoid plastic or chemical paints. For decoration, use fresh flowers, banana leaves, turmeric, and rangoli colors made from natural powders. These are safe for the environment and also look beautiful.
