What is the difference between Navratri 2025 and Durga Puja 2025 festivals?

I belong to West Bengal, so for me, Durga Puja and Navratri are connected but still very different. In Navratri 2025, people will fast and do daily pujas at home, but in Bengal, Durga Puja means huge pandals, artistic idols, and community celebrations. It’s like a carnival. While Navratri focuses on devotion and self-control, Durga Puja is about community bonding, art, and cultural performances. Both have the same goddess at the center, but the way people celebrate shows the diversity of Indian culture.

Navratri 2025 and Durga Puja 2025 may look similar but they have different focus:- Navratri: Celebrated across India for nine nights, mainly in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and North India. It involves fasting, daily worship of nine forms of Maa Durga, Garba, and Dandiya dances. - Durga Puja: Celebrated mainly in West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, and Tripura. It is more community-centered with grand pandals, cultural programs, and idol immersions. In 2025, Navratri will start on 22nd September and Durga Puja will be observed during the last five days (Shashti to Dashami), overlapping with Navratri. Both signify victory of good over evil but are celebrated in unique cultural styles.
