I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! is back for 2022 with a brand new line-up as it returns to Australia. The popular ITV series took place in Wales in 2021 and 2020 due to the "continued uncertainty" around Covid-19 and international travel.

However, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly will now head back to the jungle where a new batch of celebrities will set up camp for this year's series. Among those in the line-up are rugby professional and royal family member Mike Tindall, Love Island's Olivia Attwood, Boy George, Chris Moyles and Loose Women presenter Charlene White. And while this year's hopefuls will be keen to be named 2022's King or Queen of the jungle, 2021 and 2020's winners were handed a different crown altogether as they won at the castle.

The 200-year-old building, which is based in the seaside town of Abergele, became the unlikely home to the famous ITV set for two years running. Gwrych Castle, which is a stunning grade I listed historic building , saw its restoration process sped up as ITV paid for work such as wall tops and window lintels, while the region was given a much-needed economic boost. But who were the Wales-based campmates and who was crowned the first King and Queen of the Castle in 2020 and 2021? Here's everything you need to know.

Emmerdale actor Danny Miller won I'm A Celebrity 2021 in Wales making him the first King of the Castle. He triumphed over Coronation Street's Simon Gregson, who took second place, and Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge, who took third, during the final at Gwrych Castle near Abergele.

"Guys, honestly, from the bottom of my heart I can't thank you enough," Danny, who is best known for playing Aaron Dingle, said after being crowned winner.

"It was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be but it was just... what an experience, it was incredible and I don't regret a single second of it."

The season also saw the following celebs take part - David Ginola, Matty Lee, Adam Woodyatt, Louise Minchin, Naughty Boy, Snoochie Shy, Kadeena Cox and Arlene Phillips. Meanwhile, the series, which was halted due to extreme Welsh weather, saw Richard Madeley quit following a health scare.

Giovanna Fletcher was the first celebrity to win the Welsh version of the series.

The award-winning author was crowned Queen of the Castle in 2020 after beating runner-up Jordan North and Vernon Kay, who placed third, in the final. Meanwhile, Shane Richie just missed out on a place in the final.

Other campmates in the 2020 series included AJ Pritchard, Mo Farah, Russell Watson, Jessica Plummer, Beverley Callard, Victoria Derbyshire, Ruthie Henshall and Hollie Arnold.
