A plush Kensington house nestled next to leafy Holland Park has earned more in the past eight years than most London workers.

The three-storey eight-bed house in Ilchester Place, which is on the market with a £13m price tag, has raked in £130 an hour since it was last sold in 2007.

The rising value of the house has netted its owner – the government of Quebec – nearly £10m in that time as the house now commands more than four times the purchase value.

Ilchester Place, a property hotspot just moments from Kensington High Street and home to stars such as Robbie Williams and Jimmy Page, is the most profitable street in Britain. Last year, one owner of another eight-bedroom property made £132 an hour over 15 years.

The £130 an hour income is more than six times that of most Londoners, who earn on average £40,000 a year.

The property, listed on Rightmove, also comes with three bathrooms, a cellar, attic and gardens to the front and rear. The house also includes planning permission for a near 6,000 sq ft extension.

All chemical containers should be labelled appropriately, which would make their disposal hassle free.

Experiments conducted must be small scale to reduce the amount of chemical waste generated. Unwanted dilutions in experiments must be avoided to minimize the amount of hazardous waste generated. Experiments can be conducted with less hazardous materials such as biodegradable detergents, chromium-based cleaners, latex paints and coatings and non-mercury thermometers. Toxicity and disposal costs can be reduced by preserving specimens in ethanol. Metal catalysts must be avoided, wherever possible. Premixed chemicals must be purchased with desired concentration to avoid unwanted chemical stores and irrelevant experimental steps. Substitution of methanol with ethanol in experiments can offer more options for waste management.

Recycling hazardous chemical waste would lead to less water, air and soil pollution linked with these practices. Recycling of hazardous waste not only benefits the environment, but also can benefit a chemical company’s bottom line. Chemical waste recycling would reduce the costs linked with waste management and buying raw materials as well as increase production efficiency.

Chemical waste should always be segregated into hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
