Should couples always make decisions together, or is independence also important?

I feel it depends on personalities. Some couples love deciding everything together, others prefer freedom. As long as both agree on the method, it’s fine. What kills a relationship is forcing one system without consent.

Not all decisions need to be joint. Big ones like buying a house, yes. But small personal choices, no. Independence is healthy, it keeps individuality alive. Forcing every decision to be shared can become controlling.
