From my side, SSC exams like CHSL are safe and best. Even though science background is not compulsory, your maths knowledge will help. Defence jobs are more physically demanding, so choose according to interest.

My cousin got a Group C clerk job through Tamil Nadu PSC after completing 12th. She said the exam was not too tough, mostly general knowledge and typing test. If you are serious, you should look at your state PSC website regularly.
