Women can apply for constable posts in CRPF, CISF, and BSF. Eligibility and training are same as men. Separate vacancies are released for women every year.

I appeared for SSC MTS and found cut-off to be quite low, especially for reserved categories. In some states, police constable exams also have moderate cut-offs, but physical test plays a big role. So yes, if you want easier entry, MTS is better.
