Tumbbad is a real village located in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra, India. It lies in the Konkan region, near the western coast of India. The village became widely known after the 2018 Hindi horror-fantasy film Tumbbad, which was partly inspired by local folklore. Many viewers thought the village was fictional, but it does exist geographically.
