To add to what the previous poster said, the different endings are fantastic because they feel earned. They're not just a "good vs. evil" slider. One ending might have you fully embracing the new ways and rejecting the old traditions, while another has you upholding the strict code of the past. There's a third, more nuanced ending that's really hard to get and requires you to complete specific character questlines and make some very particular choices. It's totally worth replaying the last chapter a few times to see them all! Your relationships with certain key characters (like Lord Oda and the monk Senrei) are crucial.
