What is a yoga towel?
A yoga towel is a piece of highly absorbent cloth that keeps you dry during the intense workout, decreases slippage and improves traction by soaking up moisture and sweat. Yoga towels are generally made of microfiber material known for its wicking qualities.
Yoga towels' chief purpose is to wick away sweat, so they're generally not luxuriously thick or cushiony. That may be enough if you're outdoors on
Most yoga towels are the same size as a typical yoga mat and feature a soft, absorbent material that can be used to serve as a yoga mat substitute
Yoga towels are super absorbent way more absorbent than a normal towel, so they are perfect for Bikram and hot yoga, ashtanga yoga or any flow or vinyasa type
Most yoga towels are made from microfiber material to increase in grip when wet and still be soft. Some may not like the feel of microfiber, so a yoga rug made from cotton is an excellent alternative. It's not a towel, but it's designed for the same purpose: to maintain grip during an especially sweaty session.
