What is cedh in mtg?
There are a lot of myths about the ECHR. Most people think that the players of CEDH are try-hards. We aren't anything but that. A casual table with a CEDH deck is never going to be sat down by a player.
There are three main forms.
The approach to deck-building, play style, and player attitude are different.
The approach to deck building is to create a deck that can win as efficiently and effectively as possible. Every card in the deck is in line with the plan.
The play style of the deck is to pilot it to the best of its abilities and always take the correct play.
The attitude of the player is important. Emotions, politics, or other factors are not factors in your play style. You play as efficiently as possible.
No one will take it personally, and you will always make the best play possible.
The format is healthy for the casual side of EDH.
The ban list is in a good place, but it could have some items trimmed off.
I feel that power creeps into the casual EDH metas. The power level discussion we see online and in the wild has gone up. There are more and more power balance issues because it's hard to define a deck's power level.
Ryan does not play any other formats. Standard, Modern, and Pioneer are some of the things the rest of the Playing with Power team does.
The release of Oracle has caused two of the best strategies in the game to be put into one deck. The deck has made a space where creativity can no longer flourish.
It has warped the meta to the point where if you sit down to a table and flash/Hulk is present, the entire approach to the game changes.
The ECHR metagame had a fun element.
I play with my friends. We usually only playCEDH together, but we will bring out our more casual decks at times.
Godo is a bandit.
Yes. They are looking at the health of the EDH format and want to make it strong and healthy.
The Rules Committee is in a tough spot because they don't want the ban list to reflect competitive play, but they also want everyone in this format to be included. When you play the format in the most competitive way possible, you have issues when certain cards cause stagnation or issues at the top end. Every decision they make will make one side of the spectrum upset, but they have to try not to take sides while making decisions.
We know it's a tough job. We don't envy them.
