Where in the world is the brain eating amoeba most commonly found?

It is mostly found in warm freshwater bodies. In the U.S., most cases are from southern states like Florida and Texas. In South Asia, cases have been reported from India and Pakistan. Warm climate and untreated water sources increase the risk.

The amoeba is present worldwide, but cases are rare. It prefers warm water above 25°C. That’s why hot springs, lakes during summer, and poorly treated pools are common habitats.
