The thing is the demand for this branch is increasing day by day and it's leading to a decline in the number of job vacancies. You will have to sit in front of the computer/laptop from 9-5 and do certain projects given by the organisation. IT jobs pay a very handsome salary to their employees.
EEE is also a very good branch. I am currently pursuing B.Tech in EE (2nd year). So , in my opinion students in core branches , have a choice to either grab a job in their core sector or can also grab IT jobs if they have those software skills. Most of the IT companies come to colleges and in their placement drive they allow all the branches to appear in the interview. Most of the students from core branches in our college swipe away maximum IT jobs. If you want to do job in PSUs you have to appear in GATE exam in EEE and secure good rank .
