Why use aspirin in diabetes?

It has been well established that aspirin shows benefits in reducing the cardiovascular morbidity and mortality as secondary prevention in subjects of diabetes [2]. Although there is no strong evidence for a specific dosage, low-dose aspirin use (81 or 100 mg/day) is common in clinical practice.
