In the 2000s, Maruti 800 was the “people’s car.” Now, WagonR may wear that crown. Especially because it fits perfectly in the budget of middle-class families.

Not really. WagonR was already popular, but competition is very strong now. Hyundai i10, Tata Tiago, and even Maruti’s own Swift compete in the same budget segment. GST cut applies to all, not only WagonR. So I don’t think it will suddenly become the “people’s car.”
