Yes, carmakers may not need to give huge festive discounts now. Because base price is already reduced, even a small offer will look attractive to buyers. Earlier discounts of ₹50,000 were needed to attract customers. Now maybe ₹10,000 or ₹20,000 discount will be enough.

I don’t think so. Festive discounts are more about psychology and marketing than price. Even if GST rate is reduced, companies will still give big offers during Diwali to create hype.
