how to ekko jungle lol?

Ekko builds ability power items to help with the damage from his abilities and combos. Lich Bane is a core item for Ekko, you will always be within melee range of the enemies so you will most likely be able to auto-attack after you use a spell, it also works well with his Phase Dive. So getting that little bit of extra damage from Spellblade (Lich Bane's Passive) is a nice bonus. Ekko has the ability to one-shot the enemies, this will be easier once you have Infinity Orb and Rabadon's Deathcap as it will give Ekko's abilities a lot of extra damage.

Cons:

Overall relative to other junglers, (in my opinion)

-average ganks

-average early clear speed

-average health on clear

-poor early dueling

-weak objective control.

-average scuttle control

-will be behind in gold and exp relative to traditional mid ekko, so much less burst/ assassination opportunity

-pretty boring early since clearing camps involves lots of autos and you wont be looking for many invades or duels.

Pros:

-brings great utility to soloq being an option to round out comps with ap in the jungle role, given there are few viable ap jungle options.

-above average skrimishing and counter ganks in early/ mid game thanks to his AOE stun, AOE Q, and decent burst. His ult is also great here to avoid early deaths that could snowball the enemy team.

-ult and W also make him exceptional in tower dive ganks.

-has excellent scaling and teamfight utility with his amazing w for zoning or big AOE stuns that can solely turn teamfights and games around.

-Great late game sieging with Q to poke, push waves, zone. W also great in sieges to lay on towers and then jump on them with E and a big shield to safely finish them off. your ult also gives you an additional layer of safety doing this.

-super fun outplay potential and satisfying scaling

BUILDS:

Early game:

very straightforward, start talisman most games if youre still learning the clear efficiently. once youre decent you can start machete if you are starting at red and want to quickly clear the single target camps (red>scuttle>blue>gromp) for a quick blue smite purchase.

if going talisman, you can do a near full clear and back for blue smite + amp tome or dark seal. Dark seal is nice for a small power boost (in terms of gold efficiency) relative to amp tome. The extra mana and pot duration will allow you to farm a while and stay healthy to ideally get runic echos on your second back (a crucial powerspike)

be sure to buy control wards. probably the most op item you can get as a jungler in the early game. allow you to avoid being invaded, safely clear scuttles or drag, or gank a lane with 100% confidence you havent been spotted

Mid game: if you dont have tier 1 boots yet, be sure to get them immediately after runic echos is complete. movement speed is an important stat for a role that runs across the map repeatedly. your next big buy could be sheen, blasting wand, or tier 2 boots depending on the game. Most games, sheen is a strong second buy given the CDR and spellblade passive synergizing nicely with ekkos kit.

You may also need to prioritize a seekers armguard if youre being invaded and feeding to an udyr, lee, j4 etc. ekko jungle is really bad if way behind, so prioritize avoiding death and farming until youre strong. your second big item should be lich bane most games. this will allow you to have a big impact on winning teamfights and convert them into secured objectives.

T2 boots should typically be sorc shoes to help you burst champions. tabi vs lots of AD and auto attackers, merc treads if you find yourself dying with ult up due to strong CC.

I am not a fan of iceborn gauntlet or tank ekko. this isnt really a build for carrying or tipping the game in your favor much. you will simply be a nuisance in team fights and survive a bit longer without securing kills or doing much damage. with all the nerfs to tank ekko, ekko is much better suited for bursting and damage oriented builds and thus this is the best path toward climbing with ekko jungle in my opinion. With that said, letting yourself get carried is an important aspect of climbing and I would definitely recommend tank ekko if your teammates are very fed and competent and the team needs a tank or peel... this is rare though.

-late game:

I typically go zhonyas 3rd item because it has amazing synergy with both ekkos W and ult. definitely a skill cap to utilizing it to its fullest but just remembering to use it whenever youre about to die or to avoid a big cc/dmg ability makes it valuable enough.

you should look to max out AP with subsequent items since your shield and ult scale well with ap and these are crucial to your late game teamfight playstyle. a banshees veil is warranted if they have strong AP champs.

I would not recommend protobelt despite it being a staple of mid ekko. its not slot efficient as a late game item and jungle ekko doesnt need the waveclear like mid ekko.

RUNES:

see op.gg.

- im still experimenting but i typically go electrocute for reliable early game strength. you can go dark harvest for fun but note this weakens your already lacking early game.

- for the last slot in domination, I think all of these options are strong but always go ravenous hunter. not sure if this is optimal but the healing is amazing late game.

-secondary tree varies but I think precision with Legend tenacity is hidden op relative to secondaries in any other tree since theyve all been nerfed over the past year at some point. if the enemy has few hard ccs, i may go attack speed for faster jungle clears and easier passive procs, or you can get the stopwatch and CDR in inspiration but only if you are comfortable with stopwatch aka aware of it being in your inventory and remembering to use it.

PLAYSTYLE:

early game: as touched on in the builds, just try to farm for runic echos powerspike and avoid duels. Start W and max Q. clearing camps is fairly straightforward. Try Q>E on group camps and for max efficiency avoid autoing the small monsters more than once since these will be cleared by subsequent Qs.

look to gank overextended lanes with a well placed W in the enemies path of retreat. note there is an E dash> W animation cancel that can make your approach faster but you have to be sure youll be in range of the enemy to do the second E dash before the ability expires (see midbeast ekko guide on youtube).

mid game: you can win most skirmishes if you are proficient with W placements to land the stun, or at least walk in for the shield. good vision control has strong synergy with ekkos kit since knowing the enemies pathing allows you to set up traps with W and get easy kills.

all good junglers will utilize invades no matter what champ. ekko is no exception so make smart invades by using information given by deep vision or the enemy jungler appearing for a gank or dying. main purpose of your invades will be to steal buffs or other camps, or get an easy kill when they are low and vulnerable.

you are capable of soloing drag, especially with blue buff, but this might not be an efficient use of time so try to do so with bot lane help. Look to prioritize farming for lich bane BUT keep constant watch of the minimap so you can quickly rotate to fights and turn the tide.

If purple side and doing drag, be sure to ward over the wall to see for any enemies trying to steal but also to see if blast cone is there. if it is, E over, and blast cone back in. this gives the enemy team less options to steal. same situation for baron if blue side and even more important!

late game: really feel this is where ekkos high skill ceiling becomes apparent. that said, I am by no means a pro ekko but still play effectively by simply placing my Ws where I predict the team fight will move, jumping in for the stun and EQ on a priority target, then ideally running away with the movespeed of the passive proc while theyre stunned. rinse and repeat. I rarely use ult for damage since this typically yields a kill but my also my own death and potential shutdown. (good tip for climbing is to avoid 1 for 1 trades, and instead patiently wait for another opportunity to get a 1 for 0. also a 1 for 0 is usually better than a 2 for 1 due to shutdowns so learn restraint.) of course, dying to kill a super fed priority target is probably worth.

Remember as jungle ekko you are probably not the primary or even secondary damage dealer, so do what damage you can but prioritize W stuns and avoiding death with ult/zhonyas.

bottom line for how to carry? ekko jungle can carry by avoiding death, pathing efficiently, and picking favorable fights and counterganks to build a gold/exp lead. picking good fights means accurately knowing his damage output and how much damage he can take or what situations he can get out of safely. With your lead or even going even, you will outscale most junglers and this should put you ahead in late game teamfights that can be converted into objectives and the win.
