Israeli ruscus (Ruscus hypophyllum) is that fantastic filler green used in floral arrangements - and it propagates well from cuttings! I've successfully expanded my patch:

Take semi-hardwood cuttings in spring or early fall from healthy stems. Each cutting should have several leaf-like cladodes (modified stems). Remove lower cladodes, keeping 2-3 at top.

Dip in rooting hormone and plant in well-draining mix of sand and peat. Maintain high humidity (cover with plastic) and keep in bright, indirect light. Bottom heat around 70-75°F encourages rooting.

Rooting can be slow - 8-12 weeks is normal. Once established, they're quite drought tolerant and make excellent low-maintenance plants. They prefer partial shade and well-draining soil.

Be patient - they're slow growers initially but worth the wait for their beautiful, long-lasting foliage!
