Some children aged 12 to 15 who have a higher risk of getting seriously ill from COVID-19 or who live with someone at high risk of catching it will be offered the vaccine as well.

Find out more about who can get a COVID-19 vaccine.

If you are over 18, you do not need to wait to be contacted by the NHS.

If you were contacted but have not booked your appointments, you’re still eligible and can book your appointment.

The COVID-19 vaccines currently available are given in two doses to adults over 18. You usually have the second dose 8 to 12 weeks after the first dose.

To get your vaccine you can:

If you cannot book appointments online, you can call 119 free of charge. You can speak to a translator if you need to.

AstraZeneca is usually offered to people who are over 40.

Pfizer or Moderna are usually offered to people who are under 40, are pregnant, or have certain medical conditions.

Everyone over the age of 18 needs two doses of the vaccine. Second doses will be given no sooner than 8 weeks after your first dose. This is to give you maximum protection against COVID-19. All vaccination centres are expected to follow this guidance and cannot provide second doses earlier, except where there are clinical reasons. At the moment, 16-17 year olds are being offered one dose of the vaccine.

The NHS is vaccinating people who are 16 and 17 with a single dose of the jab at GP and walk-in sites. Please check your local area’s webpage below for details of the sites offering the vaccine to 16 and 17 year olds, or wait to be contacted by your GP.
