The basic unit of classification is the species. It is the lowest and most important group. For example, all house cats are one species. All humans are another species. Animals in the same species can have babies with each other. And their babies can also grow up to have more babies. This is the main idea. It is the smallest group in the big system of kingdom, phylum, class and all that we learn in school.

AVP means Assistant Vice President. It is a job title in a bank.

It is a middle manager position. So, not a junior person, but not a top boss either. The name is a bit confusing, you know? You hear "Vice President" and think of a very important person. But in big banks, there are many AVPs and VPs. It is not like the Vice President of the whole company.

An AVP usually manages a small team. Or they are a senior expert in something, like a senior analyst. For example, a manager of a large bank branch here in Canada, like at a big RBC or BMO, might have the title AVP.

The job levels in a bank often go like this. You start as an Analyst. Then you become an Associate. After that, the next step is often AVP. Then after AVP, you can become a Vice President (VP).

So, it is a title that shows you have good experience. It is a promotion and a step up. It is a good job to have.
