Prepare for disasters by exploring our resources.

Disasters of all sizes are responded to by Tearfund and its partner organizations, from small-scale disasters that can destroy a few homes or communities, to large-scale crises affecting millions of people, such as the conflict in Yemen.

Tearfund works in accordance with international standards.

The response to an emergency should be led at the local level, to the extent possible. We collaborate with other organizations in the framework of networks and alliances because we believe that working together helps us to be more efficient in our responses.

Faith leaders and religious organizations are required to play a role in emergency response.

We work with other entities to promote the work of local and national organizations.

The communities are the ones who know what their members' needs are. We support local responses to disasters and strengthen local organizations.

Charter4Change encourages locally led humanitarian responses. Our hope is that more funds are allocated to local and national organizations, and that local voices are amplified so that they have a greater presence and influence.

The Start Network supports local decision-making, encourages innovation and builds local capacity.
