In this age of sheltering from home, courier services have become more essential than ever. From takeaway food and other basic goods, to personal effects that have become part of people’s lives, these frontline services have been touted as one of the heroes of this global pandemic.

Below, you’ll find a listing of the best courier and shipping services in the Philippines.

This type of business allows its clients to send a parcel from one location to another. It is typically distinguished from ordinary mail services due to features such as speed of delivery, security, tracking, and the ability to be booked and paid for online.

Courier services operate on all scales – from local deliveries and smaller parcels, to those offering national and international services for larger parcels.

There are five basic types of courier and shipping services in the Philippines that customers can choose from depending on their budget and needs.

Standard – This service involves collecting, sorting, and transferring parcels from, say, warehouses, to the closest depot to the delivery location. The parcels are then loaded onto a vehicle and delivered to their respective destinations. This service usually takes a few days but is generally the most affordable of all courier services.

Overnight – This type performs the same service as the above, but is more expensive due to its guarantee of having parcels delivered the following day.

Same-Day – As the name implies, this service promises same-day delivery and is, as such, the most expensive of all courier services.

International – This, as you might have guessed, is for transfer of goods overseas. Here, the price depends on the size of the package and the desired speed of delivery.

Pallet – This service is used for delivering goods placed in pallets (or boxes). This service usually follows strict delivery schedules (depending on delivery destination) and offers relatively affordable rates.

These days, these services have been particularly useful for people and businesses engaged in online selling, which require shipping solutions for multiple parcels.

Larger ecommerce businesses usually have arrangements with a courier service where they can get bulk discounts.

Additionally, everyday people who need things transported from one place to another also avail of these services.

I myself have taken to decluttering by selling my own pre-loved items online, and this simple venture has allowed me to reach buyers from around the country. In between inquiries like “LP?” (last price?) and “HM SF?” (how much is the shipping fee?), I also received some helpful tips from a number of seasoned online shoppers and sellers alike. Here’s the most valuable thing I’ve learned from them: There are actually a lot of cheap courier services in the Philippines. And when you’re able to ship via the most affordable option, you get bonus points as a seller!

These affordable courier services are particularly handy for those selling non-perishable items, especially if they’d like to reach out to buyers beyond their immediate vicinity. To help you out, we’ve put together a list of the cheapest courier services in the Philippines — specifically those that will allow you to ship your products nationwide, 100% from home.

Rates start at: ₱45 for deliveries within Metro Manila

DPX Philippines boasts the lowest shipping rates we’ve found for delivery within Metro Manila. Deliveries to and within the Bulacan and Rizal areas start at ₱65, while they start at ₱75 for Cavite. DPX also covers provincial areas via their partnership with LBC Express, and shipping fees start for as low as ₱165 for their small pouches.

To ship with DPX, all you have to do is register for an account on their website and then schedule a pickup. You can have your items picked up on the same day, so long as you make your bookings by 2pm from Monday to Friday or 12pm on Saturday.

When the courier arrives, be sure to ask for a pouch, fill up a manual waybill, and provide your rider with the payment. Take note that they have no package limit, so you can schedule pickup for multiple items; plus, both buyers and sellers can easily track their packages via DPX’s official website.

For more information, visit DPX Philippines’ official website.

Rates start at: ₱50 for deliveries within Metro Manila, Rizal, and CAMANAVA (Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela) deliveries

Setting it apart from other cheap couriers in the Philippines, Fastrack offers the exact same rates for the first three sizes of parcel packaging for deliveries within Metro Manila, Rizal, and CAMANAVA areas. So for items that can fit pouches of up to 12x18in with a maximum weight of 3kg, delivery will only cost ₱50!

For Metro Manila shipments, items can be delivered as soon as the next day; provincial deliveries, on the other hand, will only take two to three days. All you’ll need to do is create an account on their website and schedule a pickup (same-day pickups can be made for bookings made before 2pm). You may opt to download their e-waybill and print it out, or ask the courier to provide you with a waybill along with the delivery pouch upon pickup. Afterward, you can keep track of your packages via their official website.

For more information, visit Fastrack’s official website.

Rates start at: ₱50 for deliveries within Metro Manila

MCFA Express is a favourite among online buyers and sellers, thanks to their low-cost rates and efficient delivery. Like the others on this list of the cheapest courier services in the Philippines, MCFA will require you to set up an account on their official website. From there, you can easily schedule a pickup! You can choose between printing out their waybill, or filling one up once the courier arrives to pick up your item.

Tracking your parcel is simple, too. All you’ll have to do is log on to their website and enter your waybill number — so make sure not to throw away your copy! Depending on your location, items can be delivered to your buyers as early as the next day.

They’re a particularly attractive choice for online business owners, as they also provide cash-on-delivery services for buyers who prefer to pay for their purchases upon receiving their items. Just register for an account on their site; then, you can schedule your pickup via online booking, call, text, or email. Cut-off time for booking is 2pm from Monday to Saturday. Rates start at: ₱80 for deliveries within Metro Manila

Out of all the cheap courier services in the Philippines, GoGo Xpress (GGX) would have to be my personal favourite. They have a website and an app (something uncommon among cheap couriers), and both are very user-friendly. Once you’ve signed up for an account, booking is simple; and an electronic waybill is created for you once you schedule your pickup. So, when the courier comes, all you need to do is hand over your parcel and place it inside the pouch. You can also choose between providing the courier with shipping payment upon pickup or upon delivery!

GGX also stands out among other couriers as they’ve optimised their service specifically for online sellers. They’ve even created a platform just for selling your items! Recipients also have the option to pay cash for their purchases upon delivery; the amount will be disbursed to the seller’s registered GGX account. The seller will then be able to cash out to their preferred bank account.

To add to all this, this service offers the lowest base rates for provincial deliveries. Compared to other couriers (whose starting rates range from ₱165 to ₱250), GGX’s provincial rates start at just ₱120 for their small pouches. They also send pickup and delivery updates to both buyer and seller via SMS. Plus, at the rare event that delivery is late, GGX will even give you a rebate. Talk about efficient service — and at an affordable price, too.

For more information, visit GoGo Xpress’ official website.

Rates start at: ₱70 for deliveries from Vismin

Abest Express has actually been around since 1990, so you can trust that they’re equipped with years of experience. I’ve personally made use of this courier service for delivery from Batangas to Metro Manila — and I received my item early the next day! Among the other cheap courier services listed here, Abest Express also ships internationally.

While they have drop-off stations like traditional couriers, Abest Express can also pick up your item for you; just call their designated mobile numbers for pickup services and let them know when and where you’d like to collect the item!

For more information, visit Abest Express’ official website.

Fortunately for you and all business owners, there are a vast number of delivery and courier services in the Philippines right now. The field is very much democratized for all your needs. Whether you need a cheap service, same-day delivery, national delivery, or even international delivery, all you have to do is pick one. If they’re not accessible through a few taps on your phone, you can easily find a branch to drop off your item and even collect payment for you.

The importance of good shipping can’t be stated enough, as this is the most crucial step in getting your product to your customers and ensuring their continued patronage. If your customers can’t get the product they ordered in good condition and a timely manner, then you’ve lost business. Even if you can’t control how your goods are delivered, it still reflects on you, so choose wisely.

So how do you filter through all your options for courier services in the Philippines? Simply figure out what you and your customer will need.

Now that you know what to look for in a courier service, it’s time to rate the different options available to you in the Philippines. While many of them may seem the same at first glance, they differ in a lot of key features and services. Read up on which services you require for your business.

First, we’re going to list the best courier services for same-day delivery in the Philippines. Again, this is for businesses that need to send out perishable products or want to get their goods to their customers as fast as possible.

GrabExpress is the most popular option in the Philippines’ urban centres due to its sheer convenience. GrabExpress can deliver your items on the same day by motorcycle, car, or SUV depending on size and weight, and can collect cash on delivery. While Grab lets you pay through different methods such as cash, credit/debit card, or GrabPay, the platform’s biggest shortcoming is that its delivery service is only available in Metro Manila and Cebu City. It’s the easiest to use because you can access it on the Grab app, which most Filipinos already have for GrabFood and GrabCar.

If you’re looking to ship goods from Metro Manila to outside the capital and vice versa, Lalamove is a better way to go. Lalamove drivers can ship small items and huge products like appliances alike, plus they also collect cash on delivery. Other than cash, Lalamove also lets you pay via credit or debit card, and they have their own e-wallet feature. However, much like GrabExpress, Lalamove is only available in Metro Manila and provinces near the capital in Luzon.

Mr. Speedy is an up-and-coming courier service in the Philippines. Its biggest strength is delivery within Metro Manila and to other nearby provinces, as well as its affordable delivery rate of P60 plus P6 for every kilometer. The downside to Mr. Speedy is that it’s not as feature-packed as GrabExpress and Lalamove. The service only allows for cash on delivery and pickup, and exclusively uses motorcycles–meaning you can only send out small items. It’s also currently difficult to schedule a pickup outside Metro Manila, so if you’re in the provinces, you might need to look to a different service.

Popular ride-sharing app Angkas has also branched out into motorcycle delivery, offering affordable prices to customers in Metro Manila and Metro Cebu. Like Grab, it’s convenient as many Filipinos already have the Angkas app. The only thing to remember is that you can only ship out small items as they are delivered via motorcycle, and you can only do so within Manila and Cebu. Right now, only cash is accepted as Angkas is still working on card payments.

Transportify comes to the Philippines as the best option for large goods. It allows for same-day delivery using their fleet of trucks to any point in Luzon, in addition to pre-scheduled pickups through the website or the app. It’s pricey with rates starting from P190 as you’ll be getting a truck delivery. The downside to Transportify’s services is that if you’re outside Luzon you’ll need to look for a different service.

Of course, you might need a service that can ship to anywhere in the Philippines, not just Luzon or provinces near to you. You may even need a service that can ship all over the world. Here are your best courier options for nationwide and international shipping. Note: due to the nature of this service, they are likely not going to be same-day deliveries.

For nationwide delivery, few are better than LBC. They offer various shipping options, such as land delivery, air cargo, and sea cargo in the Philippines and select countries, including the U.S., Australia, Canada, and a lot more. They also collect cash on delivery, opening up that payment method for your customers. The only downside of LBC delivery, other than a longer shipping time, is that you’ll have to drop your item in their stores. Fortunately, there are a lot of LBC branches across the Philippines, and you won’t have to look far to find one.

Business owners can also partner with LBC’s SoShop program, which offers perks and benefits for deliveries, and also helps local businesses grow by providing them a platform for promotion, networking, and education.

If you need to ship goods and items worldwide, DHL is a top choice for international delivery. DHL can deliver to a whopping 220 countries across the globe, and you can pay with cash, credit/debit card, or bank transfer. Another great feature DHL has is its online booking option for both small items and large cargo. Note: it can be a little pricy as the rates depend on the weight of the package.

Best known as the partner courier service of e-commerce sites Shopee and Lazada, J&T Express allows for affordable nationwide delivery depending on location. It’s easy to use as you can book a delivery through the J&T Express app and website and easily track your package online. With around 400 branches across the Philippines, J&T Express can deliver to a nearby branch or directly to your customers’ addresses.

Singapore-based courier service Ninja Van is a reliable nationwide delivery platform in the Philippines. Ninja Van’s best feature is its corporate accounts, which give business owners a platform to regularly schedule deliveries ahead of time. Ninja Van allows for cash on delivery, which they can regularly remit to you. Another exclusive feature is pickups and drop-offs at SM malls, making it easier to reach Filipinos anywhere in the country.

Another affordable courier service in the Philippines is JRS Express, which delivers nationwide thanks to its over 400 branches across the country. They can handle anything from letters to large cargo, and they can ship internationally to many countries, including the U.S., Canada, Guam. However, one downside to JRS Express is that they don’t support online or mobile booking, and you will have to visit a nearby branch. Like LBC, though, there are a lot of JRS Express branches, and they have corporate solutions available for any business.

Like many of the services on this list, 2Go Express provides customers with nationwide and international shipping via land, air, and sea freight at affordable rates. A few of their selling points are nationwide delivery that takes up to only five days and an international service that covers over 250 countries around the world. Despite only taking cash, 2Go Express has online booking, over-the-phone booking, and the option to book at one of many 2Go branches nationwide.

Now that you know all about the different courier services available to business owners in the Philippines, you can now try them out and see which one works for you and your customers.

Also, remember to secure and pay for the exact service you need. If you can get by with a motorcycle courier, go for that. Save bigger or more valuable items for larger vehicles that cost more. Once you figure out the right services for your business and how to maximize them to keep your bottom line healthy, getting your product to your customers will be hassle-free!

Now that you have a list of courier services in the Philippines with a wide variety of options for you to choose from, you can focus on making sure your product is the best it can be for your customers.

If you’re still in the process of planning and setting up your online store, make sure you’re doing the right things and making the right moves. After all, a huge part of success is proper preparation, and you want to ensure you’re doing everything you can for your investment to make good returns.

Business owners and entrepreneurs in the Philippines can also try Shopify for a boost in the right direction. For a monthly fee, you can start, sell, market, and manage your business on a platform that helps you do everything you need to build your own ecommerce business.
