Who else could it be, but the top car and bike enthusiast in the entire Bollywood, John Abraham! John Abraham’s Nissan GT-R makes him the owner of the most powerful car in the Bollywood industry. The car costs about 2.3 crore rupees, and is the only Japanese supercar in India. How does 562 Bhp from a twin turbo 3.8 liter petrol engine sound? Then you have 630 Nm of absolute torque, a 0-100 Kph timing of under 3 seconds, a 6 speed twin clutch automatic gearbox and all-wheel-drive system to top it all off.

That’s because he has the ‘Black Edition’, a one-of-a-kind version of the GT-R, that nobody else in India has. The edition essentially is a cosmetic kit that adds black detailing to many elements of the car. John, who is also Nissan India’s brand ambassador, was the first customer of the GT-R here.

The car went on sale late last year, at a sticker price of 1.99 crores. Only  The GT-R is imported from Japan as a completely built unit.

It serves as a brand builder for the Japanese automaker here, and is the most expensive Nissan you can buy in India.

But unlike John, Sachin took the private import route to get himself the GT-R. In fact, Sachin bought his car in 2012, a full 4 years before Nissan officially introduced it to India. Sachin is a huge car aficionado and owns a lot of really fast cars. In fact, it was no less than a Ferrari 360 Modena that he sold in order to make way for the GT-R.

And it’s another supercar. John owns a matte black Lamborghini Gallardo. The Gallardo, which was Lamborghini’s best selling supercar, is no longer made. The version John has uses a 5.2 liter naturally aspirated V10 petrol engine that makes 550 Bhp of peak power and 560 Nm of peak torque.

Nissan officially launched the GTR in India in December 2016 at Rs 1.99 crore (ex-showroom Delhi) and has allocated only 10 units of the GTR for sale in India in the first year. Here are 7 cool facts about the Nissan GTR that you probably didn’t know.

1. The GT-R made its debut in the late 50s and was called the Skyline GT-R. But the Skyline cars were originally made by another Japanese carmaker called Prince Motors. The company was eventually taken over by Datsun, which then launched the Skyline GT-R in 1969. Later, the Datsun nameplate was changed to Nissan.

2. The GT-R earned the nickname "Godzilla" after a string of motorsport victories in the early 90s. Such was its dominance in the races that certain members of the Australian media began calling it Godzilla or the monster from Japan.

3. Each of the GTR’s 3.8-litre V6 twin-turbo engine is handbuilt and assembled by five master craftsmen that Nissan calls Takumi. The engine is assembled in a temperature-controlled room at Nissan’s Yokohama plant. The process takes as long as 6 hours after which the Takumi mounts the engine block with a plaque bearing his name.

4. The GTR is among the fastest accelerating 4-seater car in the world. It can do 0-100kmph in 2.8 seconds placing it in the league of the Porsche 911 and Lamborghini Aventador.

5. The GT-R has featured in several video games such as Forza and Gran Turismo, and popular Hollywood movies like the Fast and the Furious series. In fact, it was a favourite of Brian O’Conner, the character played by late Paul Walker in the film.

6. The current GT-R has also become a lot more practical and machine - it has 16 fewer switches on the centre console, a 8-inch screen and the seats have built for improved comfort with better bolstering. It’s also a lot more safer now - the tyres use nitrogen and can withstand a puncture even if you are driving at speeds of 200kmph!

Nissan India's recently released new commercial features Bollywood actors John Abraham and Sushant Singh Rajput apart from Nissan's supercar, the GT-R. Interestingly, John Abraham himself owns a GT-R and that too the Black Edition. Other popular owners of the GT-R include the cricketing legend, Sachin Tendulkar.
