When considering membership into a sorority or fraternity there are several things you should think about:
Why Do You Want To Be Greek?
There is more to Zeta than stepping, party hopping, throwing up a symbol, or doing an organization's call. If any of these are reasons why you want to be in a fraternity or sorority, you should stop reading now!
Service NOT Social!
This means that Zeta is looking for members who are dedicated to service, who are scholars, and who hold the true meaning of sisterly love in their hearts. When we say we want those committed to public service that does not mean someone who has only started doing community service because they want to participate in the intake process. Committed means that you have shown a consistent pattern of dedicating your time and energy to others.
Are you willing to make a FINANCIAL commitment to Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc? It's not enough to pay to be in our organization - Zeta's business takes ongoing financial support. Just because you meet the minimum requirements for membership doesn't mean you will be selected! Surprised? Don't be... Zeta is a MEMBERSHIP organization - you don't just AUTOMATICALLY get in.
Zeta is not just a lifetime commitment... Zeta is a LIFESTYLE! If you cannot make Zeta and its demands FOR THE REMAINDER OF YOUR LIFE, please find another sorority. If you are really in search of a TRUE sisterhood, ZETA is the one!
Below you will find the Psi Alpha Chapter's List of Top Ten reasons why you should and should not join Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. If you find that any reason under "why you should NOT join Zeta" falls under your list of reasons for wanting to be a Zeta, please do us a favor and SAVE YOUR TIME, AS WELL AS OURS. However, if you find that your reasons for wanting to be a Zeta are within the "why you should join Zeta" list, then come to Psi Alpha's Kitty Social held during the Fall semester.

Membership in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. offers many benefits. As an international organization, opportunities in Zeta stretch from the local, state, regional, and (inter)national levels. In the Minnesota State Organization, we strive to provide our members with a supportive, professional, and selfless experience that translates into a prosperous lifetime in Zeta.
Zeta Phi Beta’s memberships includes women from various sectors and backgrounds, coming together for a common purpose to be community-conscious, action-oriented servants. This allows members to bring their talents and aspirations to the table, with other members and leaders in Zeta providing support and guidance along the way.
Zeta Phi Beta possesses an utmost desire to provide its members with continuous opportunities for professional development. Members, both collegiate and professional, have the opportunity to serve as officers on the local, state, regional, and national levels with regular participation in business procedures and practices, which are translatable to virtually any career. Zeta also offers a leadership certification trainings, Zeta Organizational Leadership (ZOL), to its members, which prepares Zeta’s emerging leaders.
Scholarship Zeta Phi Beta regards Scholarship as crucial to our community. Collegiate members are expected to perform at high marks as well as supports other members and non-members in their academic pursuits. Graduate members are expected to support collegiate members consistently, and Zeta always encourages its members to continue their educational pursuits post-undergraduate. We do this through our National Education Foundation (NEF), which provides scholarships and educational programming.
Service Zeta Phi Beta holds Service close to our heart. We are always striving for members to stand up and be a resource in our community. Zeta executes many service initiatives, with some of our largest being: Z-HOPE, March of Dimes, St. Jude’s, and Stork’s Nest. Zeta is also encouraging its members to be active public servants through our Social Action initiatives—most notably through Zeta Day on the Hill and our newest initiative, Get Engaged.
Sisterhood Zeta Phi Beta brings lifetime membership to a strong network of women. Bonds in Zeta bring sisterly love, support, and friendship that lasts through the tests of time. Members who take advantage of the bonds of Zeta best will grow with members from all over the country, and even the globe.
Graduate Membership: Candidates for membership must have a track record of serving their community, a commitment to scholarly endeavors, demonstrate the traits of Finer Womanhood, an interest in fostering the ideal of Sisterly love, and possess at least one baccalaureate degree for Graduate membership. Eligibility for membership into Zeta is contingent upon compliance with other requirements and qualifications, as may be required by the Sorority.

Undergraduate Membership: For full-time students pursuing an undergraduate degree, please reach out to us regarding Undergraduate Membership options. At the present time, Upsilon Zeta Zeta Chapter sponsors an undergraduate chapter at Missouri State University. If you are a student at Missouri State interested in membership please feel free to contact us for further information on membership.
Transfer of Membership: For current members of Zeta Phi Beta seeking a transfer of membership to the Upsilon Zeta Zeta chapter, please reach out to us. The Upsilon Zeta Zeta chapter host regular meetings on a monthly basis. All members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. are welcome to attend. Prior notification of attendance is preferred, and positive verification of sorority membership is required to be admitted.
