Why duo won't ring?

The merger of Duo and Meet was announced in June of 2022, and it made sense to bring them under one roof because they were competing against each other in a strange way.

The merger began to take effect in early August of 2022. The process has not been as clean as we wanted.

The Duo app has been changed to the original name of "Google Meet", while the Google Meet app is still around.

All of Duo's features are the same, but the Meet features have been added to the app along with the rebrand. The original Meet hasn't had all of Duo's features added to it, and it's expected to be discontinued at some point in the future.

Duo functioned before the merger, everything that follows will detail that.

The top half of the screen shows what your camera sees and the bottom half shows your groups or contacts.

To start making a video call, type the name of the contact you want to call in the search bar, select their name from the list, and then tap the "Video call" icon at the bottom center of your screen.

If your friend has you as a contact, you will see you on their phone while you call. Your friend can't see you while he calls you. When a friend video calls you and you're using your phone, you'll see an incoming video call screen, which includes a view of what their camera sees, your friend's name or number, and buttons to answer or stop the video call. If you don't use your phone, you might get a notification that there's an incoming video call, but it depends on your preferences.

The video call screen includes a view of what their camera sees and four buttons, and you can answer a video call or not. There are buttons for a low light mode and an end button in these buttons. You can enlarge the thumbnail of your camera view to minimize your friend's view.

Everything is very easy.

The camera view/seek bar and the "create group" button screen will be returned to you when you or your friend end a call.

You can use the search bar to find contacts by name or number, as well as invite friends to Duo. Duo is required by your friends to video call you using Duo.

You can find the three horizontal dots button in the upper right corner of the main interface of the Google Duo app.

Knock Knock mode and low light can be turned off in this menu. You can limit mobile data usage, enable your phone to vibrate while it rings, deregister your phone number, add a Google account, and block numbers, among other things.

Yes, I do. Duo has a feature called "Low Light Mode" that makes you more visible to the person on the other end of the video call if you are in a dimly lit environment. The "Manage preferences" section of the "Settings" menu can be used to deactivating this function.
