How will the Maruti Suzuki car GST rate cut affect competition between SUVs and hatchbacks?

Hatchbacks gain more because they were already cheaper, and now they get even more affordable. SUVs are still taxed higher, even after GST changes. So many buyers who were dreaming of SUVs may now settle for hatchbacks like Swift or Baleno because of better pricing.

I think compact SUVs like Brezza also benefit a lot. Their price has fallen by up to ₹1 lakh. That makes them strong competitors to hatchbacks. So the line between SUV and hatchback pricing is getting closer.
