Could the Maruti Suzuki car GST rate cut increase traffic congestion in major cities?

I don’t think GST cut alone will add much congestion. Car growth is already steady in India. People who need cars will buy anyway. This cut may only add 10-15% more demand. That is not enough to blame for traffic.

Yes, more cars on the road means more traffic. Metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore already face huge jams. If lakhs of new cars enter the road, congestion will become worse unless public transport improves.
